Risk Management Responsibilities include:
- Risk Assessment & Prevention: Development of risk registers, analysis of statewide exposures, and guidance to agencies on reducing risks before they occur.
- Insurance Management: Oversight of self-insurance programs, coordination with commercial insurance carriers.
- Claims Management: Administration of claims related to motor vehicle damage or injury, property damage, general liability, medical malpractice, and other exposures.
- Policy Development & Oversight: Statewide standards, policies, and procedures for risk control, insurance procurement, and risk reporting.
- Training & Support: Guidance for agency staff on risk awareness, claims reporting, and compliance requirements.
