Claims Management

The State of Rhode Island operates under a hybrid model utilizing both self-insurance and commercial insurance to provide liability and restoration coverage. The Office of Risk Management (ORM) serves as the centralized authority responsible for overseeing the claims management process and has contracted with Gallagher Bassett to act as our Third-Party Administrator (TPA). Individuals who want to file a claim against state can contact the TPA directly (details below). 

Filing a Claim  

When a reportable incident (e.g., an accident in a state-owned vehicle) occurs, please report it to the TPA as soon as possible. In order to start a claim, please be prepared to provide the basic details about the incident (who, what, where, when, and how) in the form below and submit.

Reporters may be asked additional questions or asked to supply addition information (Vehicle VIN numbers or photos from the incident, for example)
